Probably the easiest boss in the game.īut everything in general is easier. As for Ludgar-I killed him on hard without taking any damage, and I’m bad at action games. I was, however, geared up for a very tough Bil & Ben fight right after, and it didn’t happen.ĭolan I thought was about the same-every time shockwaves went out I had to scrape two people off the floor, which upped the difficulty in my mind.ĭangaard and Mispolm I don’t remember being particularly difficult in the original, but I think they were a bit easier. I found Zehnoa about the same as in the original, difficulty-wise. Out of two attempts since I had one wipe, I only actually got the DPS check down once. Xan Bie was my first benevodon, had no class 3s, and I just could not make the DPS checks in time. Any thoughts? Any boss that you found out significantly easier/harder in the remake?ĮDIT: Damn, I completely misspelled Trials in the title lol On the remake, he seemed very inconsistent in his attack and was an easy foe for me. Ludgar was a very difficult boss in the original, mainly due to the special "Suzaku Aerial" that did MASSIVE damage, so you always needed your party to be fully healed. Ludgar - It seems that the moon bosses were nerfed in the remake. His super attack never managed to hit me and even without any wood buffs or spells, he was quite easy to dismiss. Dolan, the Moon Benevodon, is one of the harder bosses of the original but, in the remake, he is an easy foe. Their spells also were quite easy to avoid.ĭolan - This one was a big disappointment. It is a battle that demands high switching between companions but never felt it was that difficult at all. I knew that I had to avoid magic and class 2 special attacks, but they did not seem to counter them as in the original even when my companions hit them with class 2 special attacks. Changed the focus to hit the head and body in an aggressive fashion and barely escaped this one.īill & Ben (both 1st and 2nd encounters) - They are tough in the original (especially 1st encounter), but never managed to find them difficult at all in the remake. When I looked around, with the boss at 1/4 HP, there were like 3-4 heads hitting me with those vines, and it started to get harder and harder. Also, the heads were more scattered around the field than the original and made me have some trouble in focusing my attacks. The heads did collapse very easily in the original. The main problem was not understanding the mechanic of the battle. Barely managed to win after using all healing items. I think he should have been a 5/6th benedovon. Mispolm - A difficult one for me, but maybe only for me because he was my first benevodon. He felt slightly harder in the remake (was my 4th benevodon after wood, water and fire), always coming up with special attacks I had to counter and made me actually having to jump dodge (while my companions did not do it, of course) and it did more damage than I expected. He was also hitting a lot with the special attack, with the statues well scattered on the field to stop the attack, and I could not manage to get it right after about 3 tries, where I started to scatter attacks with Angela on the other empty statues while hitting with Duran on a statue that Riesz was not hitting.ĭangaard - This one is known for its high HP in the original but never felt he was very difficult. Xan Bie - Maybe it was because he was my second benevodon? But wow, this guy hits hard and always moving on the field, made me sweat in a very long battle. I think I was somewhat under-leveled (maybe 20?), but I barely managed to win with Angela already knocked out and with no cup of wishes, with Duran spamming the attack button while Riesz was hitting long-range with every attack item I had stored in the ring (Darts and such). Genova constantly hits you with traps, multiple attacks, and shapeshifters. I was still adapting to some mechanics and felt it was a BIG difficulty spike. You are not even close to prepared for what's coming. Yes, he is tricky nonetheless, but very manageable with the right strategy. But honestly, I always felt like a straightforward boss. Zehnoa - People always seemed to have trouble with this one in the original. Actually, and even though I feel that the difficulty of the remake is not that hard even on hard (especially after getting class 3), I have been finding that some bosses are actually easier in the original.Still on my first playthrough (Duran/Riesz/Angela close to the final boss, still haven't tried Black Rabite but heard he is easier in the Remake), and so far, this is what I feel about bosses that are significantly harder/easier than the remake. So I have been finding out that there has been some scattered discussion regarding if bosses are tougher/easier than the original.
